The Ukrainians Media is an award-winning independent media company dedicated to high-quality, longform, and visual journalism, creating captivating, profound, and impactful stories that matter.
Our mission is to facilitate positive social changes in Ukraine using the instruments of journalism. We are developing a platform featuring interviews, news, and special projects, creating podcasts, publishing a print magazine dedicated to literary reportage, and bringing together a Community of thoughtful, creative, proactive, and responsible individuals from around the world. Over 3,000 members from 17 countries have already become ambassadors of The Ukrainians Media.
We believe that quality, honest media can drive change and make our country an even better place. We don’t have investors or “friendly politicians”—we’ve always been independent. The only dependence we welcome is on educated, engaged readers. We want more people like this to join, so we invite you to become part of our community.

OUR STORY
The story of The Ukrainians Media began after the Revolution of Dignity in 2014, a significant milestone for our country’s democracy, as well as for us, as a media organization. From the beginning, we have been proving that Ukraine is something to be proud of, and that proactive Ukrainians are the reason to keep hope and optimism alive.
Initially, we published success stories of Ukrainians, but since then, we’ve evolved from a volunteer blog into a professional media company led by 40 young Ukrainian media specialists. We aim to attract talented Ukrainian youth to build great media. Our success comes from bright minds and skilled professionals who work with a clear mission and a thirst for change.
We started TUM with the goal of driving positive change in Ukraine, and that remains our focus. Today, TUM is an independent media ecosystem, offering not only success stories of Ukrainians but also literary reportages, podcasts, news, special projects, and educational initiatives. We prioritize quality in everything we do, evident in our products, from the sounds in our podcasts to the video projects, from photos to illustrations.

People who care are the pillars of society. Readers, listeners, viewers and doers are at the heart of our media. We founded The Ukrainians Media out of a desire for change. TUM is about influencing and helping. Journalism is our job, hobby, and life. We believe in the media’s transformative power.
In turbulent times, staying ambitious and planning is tough. That’s why we’re building the largest membership program in Ukraine, allowing people worldwide to explore Ukraine and hear stories from independent journalists on the ground. Currently, over 3,000 people support The Ukrainians Media with regular contributions. They support and inspire us by making important things happen. ACHIEVEMENTS
This year, The Ukrainians Media celebrated its 10th anniversary, marking a decade of impactful journalism and innovation. As we look ahead, we are poised to achieve even greater milestones in the years to come. Our work has earned widespread recognition both locally and internationally, with prestigious honors such as INMA’s 30 Under 30, the True Story Award, the New Europe 100, and the Gongadze Prize from PEN Ukraine.
